Cardiff Bay is a vibrant, exciting part of Cardiff. Over the last 12 years it has been extensively re-developed whilst maintaining the culture, history and architecture from the past.
The old Tiger Bay docks area has been the focus of a major change based around a huge barrage between the end of the Taff and Ely rivers and the Severn Estuary. Many of the old "dirty" industries have been moved out, and the area now consists of a mix of homes, offices, restaurants, pubs and hotels. However, the change has not been without major controversy - local residents have felt excluded and there have been major concerns about the barrage based on flooding fears, and potential impact on the eco-system of the Bay.
However, the new development has brought a new focus onto the area and it is now busy and popular with locals and tourists alike.
