Cardiff Bay Restaurants

There is a real mix of restaurants in Cardiff Bay - you have a huge choice of types of food from coffee shops, ice-cream parlours and pizza chains right through to the best French and Italian cuisine. Here is a selection.

Garçon! is a stylish new French brasserie with excellent views across the Bay from the first floor of Mermaid Quay. Very popular with the politicians from the Assembly! You can sit outside even when its raining.

Coffee Mania is our favourite coffee shop for a great choice of coffees and teas as well as a selection of snacks, paninis and luscious cakes!

The Bosphorus restaurant is one of the more unusual in the Bay. It's situated on one of two modern piers that stick out into Cardiff Bay. Its Turkish menu is popular, and the situation is just perfect, though you may feel a bit on view at times!

Café Naz is regarded as the best Indian in the Bay. Authentic food and a great selection along with excellent service. The restaurant is perfectly situated on the first floor of Mermaid Quay with great views across the Bay.

Bellinis is an Italian restaurant with great views across the Bay on the first floor of Mermaid Quay. There is a great selection of Italian dishes. The staff are attentive and courteous. Ask for a window table if you want the best view across the Bay. Opening times are 12.00-2.30 everyday for lunch, 6.00-10.30 Sun-Thurs, 6.00-11.00 Fri and Sat for dinner. Expect to pay £13 to £20 per person excluding wine. They also do a lunchtime menu for around £6. Tel. (029)-2048-7070

The Pearl of the Orient is a very large modern Chinese restaurant on the upper level of Mermaid Quay. It's pretty poorly situated down a dark passageway but well worth the effort. It's popular so it's worth booking especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. There is also a large private room for parties seating up to 80 people. Open lunchtimes with a set menu for about £6. Expect to pay £15 to £20 in the evening. Tel. (029)-2049-8080

The Spice Merchant is a medium sized indian restaurant situated in the old Big Windsor pub. Appears to cater more to tourist and office clientele but is very popular none the less. A good night out can be had here. If you are after more authentic indian food and perhaps a quieter time then Café Naz would suit you better.
